Wave Break
Here is a photograph with water pouring over the wave breaks after a wave splashed hard against them on the other side. This was taken at the lagoon on Magic Island. Magic Island isn't a piece of land surrounded by water like a real island. Maybe that is why they call it Magic.
Sea Birds of Incheon
We visited Inchon, Korea where they filmed the Korean Drama "Stairway to Heaven." (if you click on the title, you will be able to watch this highly recommended drama). More pictures of this area will be posted soon, but for now, you will only get to see a couple of the birds in the area. As I was shooting the birds, they decided to get rid of some of their excess weight. Well, with the utmost skill, they dropped one and hit their target. Splat! That freshly processed food excrement landed on my Nikon and with an exploding type splash that hit my camera buttons and spread out over my jacket and exposed skin. Ha! My wife always tells me when I get pooped on by a bird that it is good luck. That warm wet stuff just doesn't seem lucky to me, but I like her attitude and maybe some of the luck will spread to her someday. I will graciously let her know how lucky she is. :-)
Insadong Seoul, South Korea Wedding Drummers
These young Korean ladies with drums were in a historical reenactment of a traditional wedding ceremony. This section of Seoul is called Insadong and has a lot of art related shops.

Kapahulu Pier Jumper
A favorite pastime for the locals is jumping from this pier. It may be possible that all of the signs telling you not to jump makes it all that more exciting.
Spring Time in Seoul
Korea has four definite seasons and spring is my favorite. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom by mid April. Here is someone enjoying the warmer weather along the Han River in Seoul Korea. The cotton candy seems to add to the celebration. At Yeouido Hangang Park, people are able to rent boats, take water taxis to other destinations along the river, or rent bicycles.

Jeju Do, Korea on the Eastern Coast
Jeju, sometimes spelled Cheju, is the largest island in Korea. This image is taken on the east coast of Jeju near Odu island. The island is volcanic like the islands of Hawaii, so some of the landscape will have similarities. This image was take as we were climbing a crater. The horses are used for climbing on, in order to have a photo opportunity. The Asian style roof is that of a Buddhist Temple. I really love the old style architecture in Asia and am sad that most of the new buildings lack the historical elements. It is understood that things change, so the changes might as well be embraced. In the meantime, photographs will help preserve history in a strange sort of way. (See more about Jeju Island here)

Splash!
This looks like a lot of wild fun!
(Being addicted to island life, I find myself on the island of Cheju (Jeju) which is just south of the Korean Peninsula.)

Umbrella Rentals
This is close to Duke's Statue. You can rent umbrellas to lay under when the sun gets too hot for you. I am sorry about the view being blocked, but sometimes people walk in front of the camera just as you are taking the shot. Oh well...

Seoul, Korea
Hi All,
I am in Seoul and having a great time. The weather is real nice for the most part. The cherry blossoms are in bloom, so my timing was just right. It is good to be with family and friends here. The world is small, but so large that the places that I am not are missed.

Water in Crevice By the Sea
Sometimes you see some real nice natural beauty and want to share with friends only to take a snapshot that no one wants to look at. In other words, you have to see it for yourself. This image may fall short of expectations, but maybe there is enough of the colors to make it a little enjoyable to view.

Here is a young couple taking a stroll along a walkway by the water behind a hotel on Waikiki Beach. This image is being posted while I am sitting on a plane headed for Asia.

The End of a Body Boarder's Ride
Even the best waves come crashing down on the rider. This shot shows the energy and speed the water has as it envelopes its victim.

Boarding at dusk.
The jetty at the end of Kapahulu Street is very popular for the locals as well as visitors to the Waikiki area. Even on low surf days you will find body boarders trying to catch a wave. The other busy body boarding spot is just off of Magic Island located in the Ala Moana Beach Park. This photograph was taken at dusk from Magic Island.

Mini Moke... What?
What is a Mini Moke? Well, a picture can tell a lot of the story, and for the rest, you can go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_Moke. I remember seeing these cars in the Virgin Islands where I lived for a few years while growing up. This vehicle was for sale at twelve grand and is touted as the only one on the island of Oahu. That seems high for iron oxide with four pieces of rubber holding it off the ground.

Last weekend was the weekend for the auto show here in Hawai'i. I had not been in the last couple of years, so I was surprised at the additional automobiles on display.

Landmark Waikiki
This is the Landmark Building in Waikiki. It is located just inside the Ala Wai Canal on Kalakaua. The elevators go along the long channels on both sides of the "rectangular hole" in the building.
