Duck in Kapiolani Park

This duck was just sitting there waiting for someone like me to take his photograph. Well I did. If you click on the image, the original size file will come up. It takes a long time to load, but if you like to see detail, it will be worth it.

Sea Birds of Incheon

We visited Inchon, Korea where they filmed the Korean Drama "Stairway to Heaven." (if you click on the title, you will be able to watch this highly recommended drama). More pictures of this area will be posted soon, but for now, you will only get to see a couple of the birds in the area. As I was shooting the birds, they decided to get rid of some of their excess weight. Well, with the utmost skill, they dropped one and hit their target. Splat! That freshly processed food excrement landed on my Nikon and with an exploding type splash that hit my camera buttons and spread out over my jacket and exposed skin. Ha! My wife always tells me when I get pooped on by a bird that it is good luck. That warm wet stuff just doesn't seem lucky to me, but I like her attitude and maybe some of the luck will spread to her someday. I will graciously let her know how lucky she is. :-)

Doggie Beach

This dog can be found on the beach daily.

Jeju Do, Korea on the Eastern Coast

Jeju, sometimes spelled Cheju, is the largest island in Korea. This image is taken on the east coast of Jeju near Odu island. The island is volcanic like the islands of Hawaii, so some of the landscape will have similarities. This image was take as we were climbing a crater. The horses are used for climbing on, in order to have a photo opportunity. The Asian style roof is that of a Buddhist Temple. I really love the old style architecture in Asia and am sad that most of the new buildings lack the historical elements. It is understood that things change, so the changes might as well be embraced. In the meantime, photographs will help preserve history in a strange sort of way.  (See more about Jeju Island here)

Here is another image you will have to click on to see the original version to appreciate the details captured by my trusty little Nikon.

Bird in Flight

I went ahead and posted the full size image since the bird in the middle of the image is hard to see in the 72dpi version.

Please click on the image to see the full size image.

Little Bird

Birds seem to be everywhere here in Hawai'i. Even a lot of the restaurants have birds that attack plates when left unattended.

Honolulu Zoo

The Honolulu Zoo is located at Kapiolani Park in the Waikiki area in Hawai'i. Although the zoo looks small from the outside, once inside, the zoo has a very large feel to it. You will need to use the map to see everything since I have spoken to some people that missed a lot of displays because they are kind of hidden down paths that look like they lead to nowhere. Here are a couple of images from this zoo.
